The Elysia Skye Breast Cancer Organization was started in July 2008 by breast cancer survivor, Elysia Skye. We are creating a global community, working towards a decrease in the risk of cancer through PREVENTION. This means education, empowerment and an understanding of the physical effect of a positive perspective. Our mission is to educate young women and men on cancer prevention, to raise awareness about cancer in women under 40 and to share a message of love, laughter and gratitude during trauma and illness. We also raise funds and act as a donation platform for those affected by cancer at any age.

Hello amazing and supportive community! One of the main things we teach through this non-profit is that stress, fear, worry, anger and any “negative” emotion, if not properly dealt with, will lead to illness. I am raising money for Lilian Lemer to keep her alive and well during a time of crisis and trauma. If we can relieve one of the many terrible things she is facing with the loss of her daughter, then we have helped save someone’s life.

I am writing this because my LA family needs your help. Though this is not cancer related, this is in honor of a 34 year old woman who we recently lost to liver and kidney failure.  If I can use my non-profit to help as much as possible, I know I am serving my purpose. There seems to be a large upset in health problems, tragedies, trauma and global dilemmas right now. I feel a huge shift coming on, for the better. But while we go through this transition, it is so important to remember the fragility of life.

When Gigi was battling cancer, we raised money to help with costs not covered by her medicare, and continued the fundraising to support her mother during her grief, as allowing time to heal is essential to one’s own health!

Beautiful Danielle

Beautiful Danielle

My friend Danielle Levy was on life support for liver failure. She survived two weeks in the hospital, and on January 18th, at 4:42am, she took her last breath. The financial crisis that is created from the loss of a loved one is something most people don’t understand until they are hit with it. Danielle’s income was crucial to the survival of her mother. She paid for over 50% of her mother’s expenses, and the two of them lived together. They were the best of friends, and still are in spirit. Now, her mother, Lilian, is  without this support, and has the financial responsibility to close up Danielle’s bills and figure out a way to survive on her own. We are also looking at a daunting hospital bill, as Danielle did not have health insurance. The cremation and memorial services are being taken care of by other members of the family and we are so very grateful for this.

Danielle was a delightful, talented, and beautiful girl, with a magical spirit, and the kindest heart you could wish for. Her mother is also one of my best friends, who while struggling with this agonizing situation of seeing her beautiful daughter transition to the other side, is facing financial difficulties while she rebuilds her life without Danielle.

Any donation is appreciated. Any monies received above the up and coming medical bills and household expenses once Lilian is back on her feet, will be donated to a suitable organ donor organization. Lilian is also planning to do educational outreach to teach people about the existence and effects of Alcoholic Hepatitis. If we had known Danielle had this disease, she would still be alive today.

Thank you so much in advance for all of your love and support.

So full of joy!

So full of joy!

This experience has been a huge reminder for all of us to enjoy each moment. To laugh and smile as much as you can. If you’re not doing what you love every day, make a change in your life. Tell the people you love that you love them. Splurge on goodies and experiences that make you feel good. Focus always on gratitude. Cuddle your pets every day and go outside more than you think you should. We don’t know how long or short our lives are. Don’t take anything for granted, and help make this world a better place. One person at a time does make a difference :-)
